The Canadian sales leader you'd hire later, working with you now.

I help early-stage and international technology companies scale revenue or start selling in Canada. I take on the pipeline, the key accounts and the first customers, as a senior executive on a monthly engagement instead of a full-time hire.

Why not just hire someone?

You can. It's the right move once you know Canada will buy. Before that, it's an expensive way to find out.

A full-time sales hire in Canada
$100K to $150K a year
A rough all-in figure: salary, commission, benefits and recruiting, before the months it takes to find and onboard them.
Working with me
A fraction of that, monthly
A senior executive who already knows Canadian buyers, procurement and channels, scoped to your stage.

You get someone senior doing the early selling now, and a real answer on whether the market responds. When the pipeline is real, you hire a team, and I hand over the process, the relationships and what I've learned.

Early-stage companies

You have a product and early interest, and can't yet carry the cost of a senior sales hire. I build the first pipeline and help you find what works.

Companies new to Canada

You're established elsewhere. I open the Canadian market with local buyer knowledge, procurement experience and partner relationships.

  • You have a product with traction abroad and want to test Canada before committing to a team.
  • Founder-led selling has produced real interest, and the business needs a repeatable sales motion.
  • A large deal has stalled between technical, procurement and executive stakeholders.
  • You sell an emerging technology that buyers need to be educated on before they will buy.
  • Direct sales alone will not open the market, and you need partners and integrators.
  • You need senior commercial leadership now, before a full-time executive makes sense.

About me

I'm a business development leader in Toronto. For over a decade I have sold SaaS and AI products into Canadian enterprise accounts, mostly in security, building technology and commercial real estate.

My best work is the zero-to-one phase: researching named accounts, building a pipeline from nothing, taking complex deals through long buying cycles, and setting up partnerships with integrators and technology partners. I have done it for global companies and for startups, so I know what it takes to start selling in a market where the company has no name yet.

That is why I work this way. A company entering Canada usually needs a senior person who already knows the buyers, not a long search for a new employee.

How an engagement runs

  1. 1Diagnose

I look at your market, product, buyers, current pipeline and constraints, and what you want to happen in Canada.

  2. 2Define

We agree on objectives, scope, responsibilities, timeline and what success looks like.

  3. 3Engage

I work the plan with you and report on commercial progress in plain terms.

  4. 4Scale

Once it works, I hand over the process, the relationships and the momentum, so a full-time team can take it from there.

Questions I get asked

Why use a fractional sales leader instead of hiring full-time?

A full-time sales hire in Canada costs roughly $100,000 to $150,000 a year once salary, commission, benefits and recruiting are counted, and it takes months to find, hire and ramp them. A fractional senior lead gives you an experienced seller on a monthly engagement from the start. You hire full-time once the market has proven out.

What do you charge?

Engagements are priced by scope and stage, and the monthly cost is a fraction of a full-time hire. I share specifics on a first call, once I understand what you sell and where you are in Canada.

Which companies is this a fit for?

Early-stage companies, and established companies entering Canada for the first time, that sell technology or services to commercial buyers: SaaS, AI, building technology, security, proptech, cleantech and similar.

Do I need a Canadian entity or local team before selling here?

Not immediately. Many international technology companies validate demand and close their first Canadian enterprise accounts through a fractional or advisory lead before incorporating locally or hiring a sales team.

How long does it take to build enterprise pipeline in Canada?

Enterprise sales cycles in Canada typically run 6 to 12 months depending on sector and deal size. In a previous role I built a $3M+ pipeline and closed three enterprise logos in the first nine months.

What is the difference between an advisor and a fractional sales lead?

An advisor shapes strategy, positioning and route to market. A fractional sales lead goes further and owns pipeline, key accounts and execution against agreed priorities. I work either way, depending on what your company needs.

Where are you based, and do you work with companies outside Toronto?

I am based in Toronto, Ontario. I work with technology companies across Canada and internationally, including remote engagements with companies headquartered in the US, Europe and other regions.
